Who's on here?

Richard, are you the only councillor on here or will any if the (many many) others make an appearance?

We're going to send an email inviting them all but didn't want to do it until there was some activity, otherwise they would all just take one look and not bother. We were even thinking of posting a list of who has been invited, who has responded and who has joined or declined. That way people would know whether their Councillor is or isn't on here. Some have found it already - Paul Farmer has done so but not posted and Paul Hopfensperger has just registered. I think it is just about active enough to invite them now - I just don't want people to be put off by the fact there are more Councillors than members of the public, which is entirely possible at this very early stage! What do you think is the best approach?

I think invite a few of the regular councillors already known to bloggers like David Nettleton, Paul Farmer, Mrs Hoffy etc. Don't tell him but Mr Hoffy is not a councillor anymore! It needs to be the approachable ones, as in my experience some are more approachable than others! We don't want to put off people before the forum is up and running! ;)

I've invited a few people while sat here in Starbucks eating my lunch! As you say it's best not to put people off. Could you possibly spread the word among your fellow bloggers? The key thing is that this doesn't compete with blogs, it compliments them and, ultimately, will drive more people to read them.

Welcome iodinysonse
The best person to reply on antivirus would be super admin, who I am sure will set this up as a seperate topic, for the rest of us to comment on.

I use and recommend Avast antivirus, which is free to down load for personal use, It was recommended to me by an old style computer user with enons worth of experience and to date has been totally problem free. i phones thats one for Picklesmum and Richard.

I suspect that this forum is being hit with spam, and that the "question" about anti-virus software is a ruse to get the iPhone unlocking URL spamming.

If thats the case kt1, I would assume super admin will take a dim view and address the situration. One would hope anyone trying to spam here would also have their membership removed, thus reducing the risk to other members.

I hope so.

You missed a spectacular piece of spam earlier. I think it's gone now. Very cleverly designed gobbledegook to get through filters. Read almost like a government document!
